Craming for Cohutta

Although I have been staying pretty fit over the winter I have not ridden as much as I would have liked. It was a combination of reasons that caused the lack of saddle time so no blame can be placed anywhere except on me. Damn! So with the Cohutta 100 MTB race less than two weeks away I was feeling like the big test was coming and I needed to cram for it. Enter Tony and his 6.5 hour training ride planned for Saturday. I figured this would be a great opportunity to gauge my fitness and determine if I could survive the race on sheer will and power reserves. As well as get some trail time with Tony. That's always a great time!

We rolled along just fine for about 6 hours, or just a bit more, when Tony double flatted out on the single track. Now how often does that happen? Not often! So with a little juggling and macgyver action we got back to the extraction point with nothing but some tired legs and empty CO2...All Good!

Evaluating after the ride I determined that I'm good to go on the Cohutta mission so signed up and well see how it rolls out!

No matter how the race turns out I'll have some good miles, on a great course, with some great friends. Sounds good to me!
